Diagnostic Imaging ServicesThe Diagnostic Imaging department is committed to providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical imaging services to aid in the treatment and diagnosis of the patients of Woodlawn Hospital. The department is comprised of contracted Radiologist and highly qualified Technologists, most of which are cross-trained to perform a variety of different procedures in the department. Diagnostic Imaging also serves as a clinical site for Indiana University Kokomo.
Diagnostic Imaging is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be accessed through the Main entrance. Normal operating hours for scheduled, lengthy, fasting exams or exams requiring a Radiologist are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All exams are reviewed by Summit Radiology out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, which has 30 Radiologists on staff, to accept and read emergency and after hours procedures.
In addition to conventional X-rays, Diagnostic Imaging is equipped to perform a wide variety of special procedures. These procedures range from Digital Mammography and CT scans (Computer Axial Tomography) to studies involving Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
